This week a Login Consultants has released their newest tool related to Microsoft App-V. My collegue Peter Nap made it possible to load applications onto an USB device and have them imported into the App-V Client automatically. Profile Management is still one of the biggest issues within terminal server environments. Benny Tritsch, former collegue and now CTO for Immidio, wrote a very nice white paper on profile managementm for use with VDI and terminal server environments. I think this is a must read for everybody struggeling or in dissision making on how to manage your profiles. Please read and download here.

Windows Server 2008 (R2): How to use remote desktop to a particulair RDS server in an RDS Farm

Whenever you have set up a complete Terminal Server or Remote Desktop Server farm and have included a session-broker all server will follow normal procedures. So when you use MSTSC.exe (RDP) to connect to one of the servers the specific server will contact the session-broker server to see whether you already have a session on one of the server member of the farm. Next thing is when you have WSRM (Windows Server Resource Manager) activated, the session-broker will direct you to the server with the least load, according settings of WSRM. So when connecting f.e. server00.domain.com you might end up on server02.domain.com.

Hello Again

Hello all,

It has been quiet for quite some time. I have been very busy running a project abroad, Prague Czech Republic, so all of my time has went there Smile. I will try to pick up the pace as there is a lot to write about. Recently I have been working a lot on implementation of Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services and also I have been spending a lot of time on the Microsoft Forums trying to help others out with implementation of Microsoft Terminal Server Services:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverTS/threads and http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsserver2008r2rds/threads

I therefore will start with some articles on topics I saw coming by on the forums. Also I will try to tell some more on one of my favorite tools of Immidio (http://www.immidio.com/).

I hope you all enjoy the articles again and I am looking forward to the responces.

Regards Robert
